3696 Asst Director of Internships, Boston, MA, 9-month Contract Sigma, Inc., is currently looking for an Assistant Director of Internships to work onsite with our team located in Boston, MA.
Schedule : Full-Time, 7 hrs per day, 35 Hours per Week, Position can be Hybrid.
Job Summary
Our client, a leading university in the Boston area, is seeking a Temporary Assistant Director of Internships to support internship programming and employer engagement initiatives. This individual will help develop internship processes, implement a new internship management platform, coordinate employer and student communications, and support internship programs across multiple academic cycles.
This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with experience in higher education, career services, internship or program coordination, employer relations, student services, project coordination, or nonprofit program administration.
Responsibilities
Support the Director of Internships and Industry Partnerships with the development of internship programs and processes.
Help establish and improve procedures, documentation, and operational workflows for the Internship team.
Assist with implementation and staff training for a new internship management platform.
Coordinate internship-related communications with employers and students.
Support the Yawkey Nonprofit Internship Program by:
Responding to employer inquiries.
Promoting nonprofit internship opportunities.
Tracking budgets and funding allocations.
Managing student applications throughout Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 cycles.
Assist the Launchpad team with internship program planning and operational support for Summer 2027.
Collaborate with employer engagement and internship teams to ensure smooth program operations.
Maintain accurate program records and reporting.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience in higher education, career services, workforce development, internship coordination, student affairs, nonprofit administration, or program management.
Strong project coordination and organizational skills.
Experience managing multiple projects and deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Comfortable learning and supporting new software platforms.
Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Experience working with students, employers, or internship programs is highly preferred.
