Assistant Director of Nursing - Delmar

Key Responsibilities

As the ADON, you will work closely with the Director of Nursing Services (DNS) to ensure the highest quality of care for our residents:

• Leadership & Supervision:
  • Assist the DNS in managing nursing staff and maintaining care standards.
  • Oversee daily staffing processes and ensure effective communication across the nursing team.
  • Support staff through ongoing education and mentoring.
• Clinical Responsibilities:
  • Conduct weekly wound/skin rounds and ensure effective infection control practices.
  • Meet the medical needs of residents and ensure timely completion of medical records.
  • Provide 24/7 on-call support as needed.
• Operational Oversight:
  • Coordinate and direct total planning for nursing services.
  • Assist with interviewing, hiring, and orienting new staff.
  • Maintain flexibility to address unpredictable operational needs.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of NY (required).
• 3+ years of experience in long-term care settings (required).
• 2+ years of management experience (preferred).
• 1+ year of staff education experience (preferred).
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Demonstrated leadership and supervisory capabilities.
• Flexibility to adjust work schedules based on facility needs.
