Job Description - Assistant Ga PreK Teacher

A GA Pre-K Assistant Teacher primarily supports the Lead Teacher in providing a high-quality learning experience for four-year-old children in Georgia's Pre-K Program. This includes assisting with planning, implementing lessons based on GELDS and the approved curriculum, and ensuring a safe and nurturing classroom environment. The assistant also helps with assessments, maintains records, and communicates with parents. 



Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with lesson planning and implementation:

  • This includes preparing materials, organizing the classroom, and adapting activities to meet individual child needs. 




  • Support child development:

  • The assistant observes and assesses children, provides individual and group activities, and helps create a stimulating and engaging learning environment. 




  • Maintain a safe and healthy environment:

  • This includes ensuring the classroom is clean and organized, and that all children are supervised appropriately. 




  • Communicate with parents and staff:

  • The assistant helps maintain records, provides updates on child progress, and collaborates with the Lead Teacher and other staff members. 




  • Fulfill administrative duties:

  • This may include tasks like taking attendance, preparing snacks, and assisting with other classroom management duties. 




Qualifications:



  • Educational Requirements:
    .
    Assistant teachers must meet certain educational requirements, such as a high school diploma or GED, and may prefer candidates with a CDA, Associate's, or Bachelor's degree in early childhood education. 






  • Experience:
    .
    Prior experience working with young children in a daycare, preschool, or similar setting is often preferred. 






  • Skills:
    .
    Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills are important, as is the ability to work well as part of a team. 






  • Background Checks:
    .
    Candidates must pass required state and company background checks. 




Compensation: $15.00 per hour
