Dogtopia of Town Center - Virginia Beach is looking for fellow dog lovers to join our growing team as an Assistant General Manager!

We “Enhance the joy of dog parenthood...” by providing clean, safe, and educational dog daycare to our furry guests and their pet parents. We believe in creating better canine citizens by truly S.E.E.ing (Socializing, Exercising, and Educating) each dog; which we believe helps keep dogs in their loving, forever homes and out of shelters.

We also “...Enable dogs to positively change our world” through our Dogtopia Foundation. Our foundation features three worthy causes: sponsoring service dogs for returning service veterans, youth literacy programs, and initiatives to employ adults with autism. We host Foundation fundraising events within our daycare center, including fun photo booth days, special treats, and dog arts and crafts.

The Role

Assistant General Manager
This is a role for someone with a management and operations background who understands hard work, how to deliver and train others to provide top customer service, and ensure a great environment for the dogs in our care. This person should love dogs - and, upon successful completion of training, you can even bring YOUR dog to work with you! What a bonus!

Responsibilities

• Be willing to do what is necessary to meet the needs of the pet parent and create an unparalleled experience for them
• Caring for all furry friends as if they were a part of your family
• Create staffing schedule and monitor daily schedules
• Deliver written performance reviews and give employees positive acknowledgement when due
• Proactively dismiss dogs with ongoing behavior issues and monitor action plans to retain those with minor issues
• ENJOY your team! GROW your team! And PLAY to your fullest potential
• Keep the team members engaged in their duties
• Lead by example by coaching all on contributing to a positive team
• Maintain and update cleaning schedule, along with holding themselves and team accountable to Dogtopia’s safety and cleaning standards
• Onboard all employees and ensure each employee has the correct amount of training
• Proficient in POS software (training to be provided)
• Proven ability to offer verbal and written feedback to team members to hold accountability to standards
• Understanding and living our Dogtopia-isms (listed below)
• Utilizes training opportunities for the team such as dog injuries, billing issues, or customer complaints
