Assistant Golf Superintendent - Ford's Colony Country Club

Are you ready to grow your career in turf management at one of Virginia’s premier country clubs? Ford’s Colony Country Club is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Assistant Golf Course Superintendent to help lead our golf course maintenance team and uphold the high-quality standards our guests and members expect.

In this dynamic role, you'll support the Golf Course Superintendent in the daily operations and care of our award-winning courses, all while gaining the experience and mentorship needed to become a future superintendent.

Compensation: $60,000K / year

What You'll Be Doing: 

• Oversee and perform daily golf course maintenance activities


• Operate and maintain mowers, sprayers, and other turf equipment


• Apply fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides safely and effectively


• Monitor and maintain irrigation systems


• Maintain chemical and equipment inventories


• Train, supervise, and mentor maintenance team members


• Ensure a safe and productive work environment


• Document chemical applications and uphold regulatory standards


• Secure and maintain maintenance facilities

What We're Looking For: 

• Experience in golf course or turfgrass management


• Obtain pesticide applicators license within first 6 months of employment


• Working knowledge of irrigation systems, chemical applications, and course preparation


• Current or obtainable pesticide applicator certification


• Proficiency with tools, equipment, and course management software


• Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills


• A dependable, hands-on leader who thrives in a team environment


• Valid driver’s license required


• Ability to work weekends and holidays as needed
