Principle Purpose of Job

The Assistant Housekeeping Manager supports the Housekeeping Manager in overseeing the cleanliness, comfort, and overall presentation of guest rooms and public spaces. This role is hands-on and supervisory, promoting Devil's Thumb Ranch service standards while maintaining efficiency, organization, and team morale.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the management and daily operations of the Housekeeping Department for guest rooms and common areas.
  • Help train, schedule, and supervise housekeeping staff while fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Ensure cleaning standards and schedules are followed and assist in refining them as needed.
  • Step in to perform housekeeping duties when necessary to maintain service continuity.
  • Monitor and support labor cost control and staffing levels according to occupancy and budget.
  • Respond to guest concerns and service issues professionally and promptly.
  • Aid in maintaining clear communication between housekeeping and other departments.
  • Help manage inventory levels and ensure supplies and equipment are stocked and well-maintained.
  • Assist with vendor coordination and ordering processes as requested from Housekeeping Manager.
  • Support payroll and timekeeping accuracy.
  • Maintain safety and cleanliness protocols in alignment with DTR standards.
  • Uphold and model DTR’s values of respect, professionalism, and hospitality.

Requirements

  • 1–2 years of supervisory experience in housekeeping or hospitality required; luxury resort experience preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and capable of learning property management systems.
  • Proven ability to lead by example and assist with physical housekeeping duties when needed.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Bilingual skills a plus.

Compensation Description:

$50,000 - $55,000/year Competitive pay commensurate with education and experience.

Due to the nature of our 24-hour operation, there is no guaranteed work schedule. Managers will try to accommodate specific schedule requests, but they are never guaranteed if business volume prohibits.
