Barrington Stage Company, an award-winning professional theatre company located in the heart of the Berkshires, is seeking an Assistant Lighting and Projections Supervisor to join our team in Pittsfield, MA. This position ensures high-quality lighting for every performance throughout the BSC 2025 season and assists in managing the lighting team. The Assistant Lighting and Projection Supervisor supervises the Staff Electrician, Board Operators, Follow Spot Operators, and Overhire Electricians. This position requires an independent individual with knowledge of theatrical lighting systems who is able to work with a team to reach the artistic goals of the production.

Responsibilities:
Assist in the management of the lighting team to provide electrics support for productions and events throughout the BSC 2025 season
Aid the Lighting Supervisor and creative teams in determining a seasonal rental package, and source equipment to effectively create their designs in the theater
Maintain up-to-date paperwork for each production including, plot, channel hook-up and show run sheets
Consult with the Lighting Supervisor and the creative team to best meet the needs of the production and create accurate cost estimates to remain within budget
Help coordinate and manage the hang, focus, and strike of lighting and projections equipment including supervising the staff of the lighting department and any overhire staff needed
Ensure each production is ready to focus and tech per designer specifications
Coordinate with other departments to ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness when planning load-ins and changeovers
Coordinate training for the stage crew as necessary to handle onstage practicals, and train follow-spot operators as needed
Attend rehearsals, technical rehearsals, and production meetings as needed, and respond to notes given throughout the rehearsal process
Assist with purchasing materials, tools, and supplies for the installation and maintenance of each lighting design
Assist the Lighting Supervisor in preparing and maintaining show budgets and expense reports
Assist with coordinating and managing the construction of any specialty items such as light boxes, star drops, or LED tape projects
Coordinate with Stage Management on rehearsal and tech notes
Execute note calls with Electrics crews during tech and load-in
Keep the electrics shop and storage areas clean and free of debris, and ensure the shop is organized and functional
Maintain and update lighting inventory throughout the season
Serve as master electrician for the Blatt Performing Arts Center and board operator/programmer for cabarets throughout the season.
Skills:
Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and time management skills
Ability to work as a member of a collaborative team
Knowledge of theatrical lighting systems and equipment
Knowledge of ETC Lighting Consoles, ETC Networking
Experience with HD Video systems and associated components
Experience with DMX equipment, atmospherics, moving lights, LED fixtures, and troubleshooting/system diagnosis
Experience with Vectorworks, Lightwright, and all standard theatrical lighting paperwork
Working knowledge of theatrical rigging, theatrical power system,s and wiring and soldering
Experience designing and building LED tape systems
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and must be comfortable working at heights
Proficient with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and Adobe Acrobat
This position reports to the Lighting Supervisor. It is a full-time, seasonal position, Contract: 4/28/2025 through 9/21/2025 Pay is $900 per week, exempt, with housing available.
