Lakes Gas Co. Assistant Managers are expected to carry through on the direct requests from the Regional Manager and Home Office. The Assistant Manager needs to have a Class B CDL with Tanker, Airbrakes, and Hazardous Materials endorsements and possess current medical card. If the prospective manager does not have endorsements, they must actively be scheduled to train and test to meet job duty requirements. The Assistant Manager needs to have strong time management skills, attention to detail, and must ensure employee work is completed in a safe and timely manner. 

In the absence of, or per the direction of the Regional Manager, must be able to lead, organize and supervise the support staff. Responsible for processing accurate timecards, routing deliveries, maintenance and inspection of company and customer properties and equipment. Must adhere to all Local, State and Federal laws, including DOT rules and regulations per Pamphlet 54 and 58. Must ensure branch compliance with all of Lakes Gas Co.'s policies and procedures. 

Reports directly to Regional or Branch Manager.

• Puts safety first in all aspects of the job: at the branch, at the customer site and on the road while driving.
• Excellent Customer Service skill: courteous and friendly, mindful of customer property and always ready to help the customer get the most out of their Lakes Gas experience.
• Workload standard will be determined by Regional Manager and customer demand plus weekend work as required.
• Fleet will be maintained in excellent condition, ready for all delivery situations. and subject to no-notice spot check inspections.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS/QUALIFICATIONS

• A motor vehicle record (MVR) review will be conducted annually to determine if a driver is qualified to operate a commercial motor vehicle in accordance with regulations as defined in Section 391.25 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug test prior to employment.
• Subject to passing random drug and/or alcohol tests per DOT and company policies.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be capable of working in extreme temperatures, humidity and other environmental conditions as the majority of the job functions are spent outdoors in the elements.
• Must be capable of pulling a delivery hose out a distance of 150 feet (minimum force requires 75 pounds).

COMPANY SPECIFIC STANDARDS

• Maintain company records.
• Must adhere to Company Policies and Procedures.
• Must be able to be on call rotation a week at a time.
• Must adhere to Company Uniform policy.
• Tobacco and alcohol free at all times while working.

JOB SAFETY STANDARDS  

• Must be able to demonstrate a safety-minded attitude that is aware of the surroundings.
• Must wear appropriate PPE for applicable task and season.
• Need to investigate driveways, or close quarter situations on foot when conditions are such that the area is challenging to maneuver a vehicle.
