Greater Nashua Mental Health is looking for an Assistant Manager to join our Emergency Services team! The Assistant Manager oversees the 1st shift operations of the ES team. Assists the ES Program Manager in program development. Provides supervision to the 1st shift ES Clinicians, Crisis Support Specialists, and to internship staff. Maintains and develops the ES schedule, Agency On-Call and the Supervisor On-Call schedule timely each week. Provides education to GNMH and to the community at large on ES services and limitations. Occasionally deploys to the community and provides services to clients in crisis to model leadership.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Supports the Emergency Services Director in the absence of the Emergency Services Program Manager
Oversees the general operations of 1st shift staff, including leading a daily deployment meeting, ensures routine safety checks are conducted, a shift log is initiated at the end of shift, and other similar tasks
Provides supervision, training, and support to the 1st shift ES clinicians, Crisis Support Specialists, and to internship staff
Maintains and develops the weekly ES shift schedule and develops and maintains a reliable per diem work base
Maintains and develops the weekly Supervisor and Agency On-Call Schedule
At the request of the ES Program Manager or the ES Director, coordinates and supervises activities and training with the 2nd Shift Coordinator, Peer Support Coordinator, and the Community Liaison to ensure the ES team is addressing the needs of the community and to ensure staff are trained consistently
Maintains knowledge of Emergency Services and the Rapid Response System as well as agency policies and procedures, and is familiar with other services provided within the agency and community
Participates in rapid response deployments into the community, at least weekly to support the mission of ES and to demonstrate leadership and as needed
Provides timely documentation of services within 3 days of delivery
Reviews ES evaluations and provides clinical feedback to staff
Provides education to GNMH and to community stakeholders on ES services, parameters, and limitations
Participates in the ES Supervisor On-Call and Agency On-Call Rotation
Performs other duties or special projects as required or as assigned
Requirements
Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Mental Health Counseling or similar field
NH Licensed LCMHC or LICSW preferred
3 to 5 years related work experience
Knowledge of Crisis Intervention services, risk assessment/management, trauma informed care principles, and integrated treatment for co-occurring disorders
Knowledge of NH involuntary admission criteria and conditional discharge revocation processes
Knowledge of family dynamics and systems theory
Knowledge of Careline, Rapid Response, and Access point systems
Ability to clinically assess, evaluate, and support individuals in crisis and to develop an effective treatment plan to manage and treat a crisis event
Leadership ability in work setting. Flexible, willing to learn, and anticipates the needs of self and staff
Strong collaboration skills, and an ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with frequent deadlines; high energy, self-motivated and proactive
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to organized, develop, and maintain multiple work schedules timely for staff and managers
Demonstrated ability to interact with community stakeholders (e.g. school personnel, pediatricians) to promote department and agency programs
Be flexible to work non-traditional shifts in order to staff this 24/7 program as needed
Provide effective clinical supervision to support the needs and growth of GNMH staff
Ability to multitask, and be flexible with regard to workload and assignments
Ability to exercise judgment. Ability to problem solve and exercise judgment
Knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Email, Word, EXCEL, Teams, etc.)
Must possess a valid driver’s license and automobile with liability insurance in the amount required by agency policy
