Assistant Manager, Marketing and Publications

The Illinois Association of School Boards (IASB) is seeking applicants for a full-time Marketing and Publications Assistant Manager. This position reports to the Associate Executive Director of Communications and Production Services and will be headquartered in IASB’s Springfield office.

Position Summary: The Marketing and Publications Assistant Manager position works to support all communications and marketing consistent with the Association's mission, vision, brand standards, and goals through the development and management of creative assets used across print and electronic media. The Assistant Manager works closely with various departments to coordinate and execute projects, ensuring that all deadlines are met, and all deliverables are of the highest quality.

The position requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrated graphic design skills and knowledge, as well as a strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask and problem solve. Candidates need to be highly organized and have the ability to think creatively and juggle various responsibilities and tasks.

Education and/or Experience Requirements: The Assistant Manager for Marketing and Publications must have a bachelor’s degree in marketing communications, graphic design, or other related field; as well as strong knowledge and experience of digital communications tools (website systems, email marketing platforms, social media channels) and graphic design and publishing concepts. Applicants are requested to submit a digital portfolio of their previous work.

The employee must have a valid Illinois drivers’ license and a vehicle; mileage and reasonable travel reimbursement will be provided.

This position requires the employee to be able to be able to lift, move, and safely handle boxes and materials up to 50 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions of the position.

The position offers an annual salary of $42,000 – $56,000, with a generous benefits package that includes holidays, vacation and sick time, medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, and retirement benefits. Position will be eligible for Hybrid work after 90-days of employment.
