Assistant Manager - Recreation

Rec At Seventh Square Assistant Manager :

The Recreation Center Assistant Manager assists in day-to-day operations of the Rec at Seventh Square.  This consists of planning, coordinating and monitoring implementation of recreational and sports activities while ensuring a safe environment for staff and patrons. 

Specific Duties of Rec Assistant Manager:

• Assisting with planning and development of seasonal programs (Youth Basketball, Adult League Basketball, Slow Pitch Softball)


• Assists Rec Manager with staff training and ensuring that employees follow procedures and expectations set by the City of West Monroe


• Assists with supervision of staff


• Prioritizing and assigning work to staff and volunteers


• Provides customer service to patrons


• Assists with scheduling facility reservations


• Monitors and inspects facility for cleanliness and safety


• Basic groundskeeping of Brady Field (Zero Turn mower)


• Seasonal prepping and marking baseball fields


• Basic small equipment repair and maintenance


• Assist in equipment inspection and maintenance

Preferred Requirements:

• Customer Service Experience


• Experience with Cash Registers and Credit Card Machines is preferred


• Knowledge of Rules of Play for Basketball, Softball, Pickleball and Soccer


• Basic First Aid – CPR and AED skills a plus


• Scorekeeping and Referee skills a plus

Physical Requirements:

• Light to Mid Level Lifting (25-50 pounds)


• Ability to tolerate heat to prep fields in the summer months


• Climbing ladders to repair goals/change net


• Ability to maintain sidewalk edges with weed eater
