Purpose:
Responsible for developing, planning, guiding, and controlling plant activities associated with the managing of inventory through all operations.
The Assistant Material Manager will oversee and provide direction for Material Supervisor, Material Handlers & Receiving Clerk
Requirements:Essential Duties:
· Supervise Material Supervisor and Material Handlers.
· Maintain RTR
· Responsible for accident investigation & reporting on respective shift
· Has the authority to stop production if a quality or safety concern is noticed.
· Develop and implement continuous improvement ideas.
· Responsible for accident investigation, reporting & documentation.
· Responsible for overseeing FIFO material management.
· Complete forklift/floor audit sheet
· Responsible for plant 5S associated with material management.
· Oversees all dock activity, including live load/unloading and dropped shipments.
· Responsible for approving all hourly timecard/payroll data for material handlers.
· Performs all personnel reviews and makes any recommendations needed for performance improvement or disciplinary action to be taken.
· Issue disciplines to Material Handlers for lack of work performance, accidents, attendance, and any directed by HR.
· Responsible for overseeing the management of return dunnage.
· Ensures all inventory hold locations are properly allocated and visually identified.
· Oversee plant below minimum alert process.
· Responsible for maintaining forklift load standards, upkeep of forklifts, and ordering of new forklifts.
· Performs cycle counts as required.
· Constant monitoring of the plant floor to ensure all job processes and safety rules are being followed.
· Conduct 10 minute meeting with Material Handlers reviewing safety issues or any other issues that may arise.
· Review and sign off on replacement part requests from Stellantis.
· Ensure all Material Handlers are properly trained.
· Develop and implement continuous improvement ideas.
· Understand all aspects of the receiving office and fill in when necessary.
· Submit OneMobis request for invoicing, accidents, and other necessary purchases
· Any other duties assigned by the Material Manager.

Education / Skill / Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of supervisory experience. Proven leadership capabilities preferred. Ability to teach and lead team regarding
process improvements, new techniques or updated procedures. Familiar with part sequencing, kiting, bar coding and importance of safe material
handling principles. Good oral/written communication and interpersonal skills. Above average mechanical aptitude and analytical skills.
Knowledge of internal shop order numbers, their components and importance required.
