About the Position

Groome Industrial Services Group is seeking an Assistant Mechanic that supports lead mechanics in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles and equipment. This role involves hands-on work in a workshop or field setting, assisting with routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and ensuring safety compliance.​

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the inspection and diagnosis of mechanical issues in vehicles and machinery.


• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections.


• Help in the disassembly and reassembly of mechanical components.


• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.


• Ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained and stored.


• Follow safety protocols and adhere to company policies.

What does it take to work for Groome Industrial Service Group?

• High school diploma or equivalent.


• Basic mechanical knowledge and aptitude.


• Ability to use hand and power tools safely.


• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.


• Good physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects.


• Valid driver's license; CDL may be required for certain positions.​


• Experience in automotive or equipment maintenance.


• Completion of a vocational training program in mechanics.


• Familiarity with diagnostic tools and software.​
