General Position Summary
This position is responsible for coordinating vessel operations to/from the USA to/from different destinations by ocean, ensuring the vessels ship and arrive accurately and safely, and satisfying the needs of our customers.

*Travel is required for this position.  Must have a valid US driver's license and passport 


Essential job Functions
Operations
• Monitoring vessel movement and updating shipping schedule regularly.
• Supervising contracted sub-agents and stevedoring companies.
• Attending vessel operations in ports.
• Making necessary arrangements related to vessel operations with sub-agents and all other concerned parties.
• Coordinating smooth vessel operations in North America in collaboration with the company’s affiliates and all other concerned parties such as customers and their agents.
• Safety and quality control and damage prevention programs.
• Cargo canvasing and booking control.
• Freight collection.
• Handling billing processes.
• Customer service – daily communication (via phone, e-mail, etc.), claim settlement, etc.
• Following up on instructions received from customers directly, or routed by overseas offices or sub-agents.
• Providing quotations to customers directly or liaising with them and other appropriate company or company affiliate contacts.
• Keeping the customers or affiliates’ offices informed regarding the status of their shipments and vessels.
• AMS (Automated Manifest System) input and output.
• Checking SODA (Statement Of Disbursement Account) and report to the company’s affiliates.
• Negotiating contracts on behalf of the company.
• Negotiating with sub-agents and all other concerned parties to obtain competitive rates.
• C-TPAT program maintenance.
• Ensuring that all documentation is completed accurately and in compliance with regulations and other requirements.
• Assisting customers, company affiliates, and customer service and sales teams with rate requests.
• Ensuring obligations are satisfied, all transactions are closed, and billing is completed and filed accordingly.
• Submitting business trip reports.

Other and Miscellaneous
• Training and educating subordinate staff.
• Making continuous efforts to gain service knowledge and familiarity with company services.
• Seeking continued improvement for more efficient and economical work processes.
• Performing special projects and other miscellaneous duties as assigned by the President.
• Reporting to work as assigned and complying with all company policies and procedures.
• Traveling on a regular basis by car, plane, ship, and/or train to meet prospective and current customers, sub-agents, or all other concerned parties.
• Following up to complete any assigned work.
• Maintaining high ethical standards in the workplace.
• Maintaining good communication with supervisors, staff members, co-workers, others who share or visit company offices, and outside contacts.
• Maintaining a clean and safe working area.
• Picking up and taking company guests between airport, hotel, and other locations.
• Accompanying company guests on business trips and sightseeing.
• All other work or tasks and responsibilities as may be assigned by the President from time to time.

Education Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or at least one to two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
