Assistant Plant Manager

Description

Assist Plant Manager with plant operations. Plan and prepare for upcoming plant projects. This position reports to the General Manager. 

General Description of the Job:

· Be at the plant to open and begin the loading process as directed

· Ability to effectively work with and positively communicate with employees, supervisors, and customers.

· ACI Field Testing I Certified - Know how to perform slump, air, moisture, and yield tests for concrete and quality of aggregate.

· Understanding basic computer software especially as it relates to the functions of the concrete plant, communicating by e-mail, and using programs such as Microsoft Word or Excel.

· Perform other job functions such as ready-mix truck driver, a dump truck driver, loader operator.

· Responsible for daily concrete testing and recordation of results and making any necessary plant adjustments to produce in-spec concrete.

· Daily visual inspection of aggregates being used and delivered for gradation, material cleanliness or any contamination in aggregate and report any quality issues to the supplier and manager.

· Perform safety written observations, review with employees, and forward a monthly report to you manager.

· Recognize when the plant batch plant is not performing properly or by visually or audibly detecting problems and then the ability to troubleshoot problems.

· Responsible for plant basic plant maintenance repairs and assisting in all plant maintenance repairs. Review with plant manager to develop plan for major repairs.

· Maintain adequate inventory of spare plant parts, periodically determine if additional parts should be maintained for maintenance.

· Provide proper preventive maintenance to plant, recorded in weekly task sheets, and participate in plant repair as necessary.

 Qualifications:
 

Ability to work flexible hours and shifts, being reliable and punctual.
Willing to work overtime and Saturday’s.
Willing to work in all weather conditions.
Ability to read and write English.
Must be able to meet Company’s insurance carriers’ requirements to be insurable.
 

Requirements:
 

High School Diploma or GED.
Valid State-Issued Driver’s License, Class A or B preferred or willing to obtain
