This role combines visionary leadership, instructional expertise, and effective management skills to create an innovative learning environment that meets the needs of students in the 21st century. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the school\u0027s operations, fostering a positive culture, and ensuring the implementation of the New Education System\u0027s principles.\n\n## ILLUSTRATIVE DUTIES\n\n * Possesses a moral and ethical compass.\n * Demonstrates a heart and passion for leadership.\n * Identifies quality people and inspires excellence in them.\n * Shows strong self-esteem.\n\n\n\n## ILLUSTRATIVE DUTIES CONTINUED\n\n * Makes decisions for the benefit of the school and community it serves.\n * Exhibits the flexibility and willingness to accept change.\n * Possesses courage and persistence of one\u2019s convictions.\n * Balances a superb intellect with common sense.\n\n\n\n## POSITION REQUIREMENTS\n\nAssists the Principal in developing and implementing plans to:\n\n * Increase student achievement\n * Increase attendance\n * Increase graduation rates\n * Strengthen instructional opportunities\n * Provide a safe learning environment\n * Provide student services\n * Comply with federal, state, and local laws and Board policies and procedures and other school district initiatives\n\n\n\n## Education\n\n * Master\u2019s degree requirement.\n * Valid Texas Principal certification.\n\n\n\n## Experience\n\n * Three years exemplary teaching experience,\n * Additional leadership experience on the campus or otherwise is essential.\n\n\n\n## Other Requirements\n\nAssists the principal in communicating, collaborating, and building strong relationships with key stakeholders including:\n\n * Teachers and staff\n * Students and parents\n * Community and business partners\n * Other members of the school and district community,\n\n\n\nAssists the principal in selecting and mentoring a high quality school staff.\n\nAssists the principal in teacher evaluation and development, student discipline management, supervision of extra-curricular activities and the preparation of required reporting.\n\nHouston Independent School District is an equal opportunity employer. \n
