The Robert Reich School of Landscape Architecture (RRSLA) at Louisiana State University (LSU) invites applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty position at the rank of assistant professor in computational landscape architecture.
We seek an exceptional designer-researcher whose teaching, research, and creative practice explore how computation and emerging technologies can expand the intellectual, environmental, spatial, and cultural possibilities of landscape architecture. The successful candidate will approach technology as a means of design inquiry rather than as an end, connecting technological experimentation with ambitious design thinking and a clear scholarly or creative agenda.
Teaching responsibilities will include instruction in the professional Bachelor of Landscape Architecture (BLA) and Master of Landscape Architecture (MLA) programs. The successful candidate will be expected to teach design studios and courses or seminars that integrate computational methods and emerging technologies; review design projects; advise undergraduate and graduate research; and contribute to curricular development. Teaching should help students move beyond technical proficiency toward the critical and creative use of technology as part of the design process. We are seeking a colleague who will contribute to RRSLA’s legacy of excellence in design education and advance the discipline through a nationally and internationally visible program of research, scholarship, or creative practice.
