Position Description:

The Department of Anatomical Sciences & Neurobiology (ASNB) in the School of Medicine at the University of Louisville invites applications for full-time, tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level. We are seeking outstanding investigators conducting basic or translational research focused on neurobiological processes and/or therapeutic approaches aimed at improving symptoms or altering the course of disease. Candidates with research programs centered on aging, neurodegenerative diseases and movement disorders are especially encouraged to apply. Additionally, the department has a strong preference for individuals utilizing innovative, cutting-edge technologies to address these research areas.

Applicants for the Assistant Professor level should demonstrate a clear plan for developing and sustaining an innovative, externally funded research program (e.g., through federal agencies, private foundations or industry contracts). The new faculty member will complement the department’s strengths in circuit-level neuroscience, sensory neuroscience and spinal cord injury research and will thrive in our collaborative, interactive and interdisciplinary work environment.

The University of Louisville offers state-of-the-art institutional resources, including core facilities for proteomics, next-generation sequencing, metabolomics, animal behavior analysis and advanced imaging technologies.

Applicants must hold an M.D., Ph.D., or both. We seek creative, enthusiastic and highly motivated candidates who will contribute to a culture of collaboration, innovation and inclusion. Salary will be commensurate with experience, qualifications and funding.

The review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled. Applicants should submit a cover letter (describing research interests) and a CV through the University of Louisville job posting website.
