The primary responsibility of the Assistant Program Director is to assist the program director in oversight of all areas of operation of the program and to ensure that the program is operating in a safe and effective manner. Essential functions are listed below and may include additional functions related to the scope of services as needed or assigned by the Program Director.
Essential Functions:
Assist in the overall management of the programmatic, administrative, financial, and operational systems related to the provision of care and services.
Ensures the provision of regular and timely reports to DCF regarding operations, services, and finances.
Elevates any issues or concerns to the Program Director, or the COO in the absence of the Program Director.
Directly supervises direct care staff, including shift supervisors.
Assists the Program Director in overseeing daily activities, hiring and termination of staff, and ensuring the safe and effective care for the youth in the program.
Effectively addresses youth’s unacceptable behavior through verbal dialog and programmatic consequences.
Manages all staff scheduling.
Attends all meetings and training as required by the Department of Children and Family Services.
Assists the Program Director in the development and enforcement of program policies that comply with the Quality Assurance and DCF Standards.
Ensures compliance with all contractual mandates.
Effectively communicates resident information and concerns with other employees.
If needed, will provide emergency First Aid and CPR in accordance with American Red Cross Standards.
Conducts and practices emergency evacuation procedures when deemed necessary.
Assumes the duties of the Program Director in his or her absence or when directed.
Drive vehicles as required.
Acts as program training officer by conducting, coordinating, and documenting training requirements.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be at least 21 years old.
Current state driver’s license
Minimum of bachelor’s degree in social work or a related Health and Human Services or Administrative field and 5 years’ experience in social services.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in relation to the supervision of staff.
College or Vocational training from an accredited institution may substitute for required work experience.
Meet criminal background check and drug screening per state requirements.
