Responsibilities of the Assistant Program Director (APD)
Reports to: The Program Director (PD)
Supervision of: All staff assigned to the program under the direction and supervision of the PD
Hours: 40 hours per week to include some direct care, Schedule to be determined and will include 1 evening and 1 weekend or 2 evening shifts
Values: APDs are responsible to exhibit and display the agency’s mission and basic philosophy of consumer validation and empowerment through respectful interaction. They must ensure that program staff adheres to agency policies and procedures and DDS regulations
Responsibilities:
All responsibilities are under the direction, supervision and in conjunction with the PD

Minimum Required Skills/Qualifications:
BA or BS in Human Service discipline preferred.
Minimum 1 year Direct Care/ Residential experience
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and the internet
Valid Driver’s License
Successful completion of all state and agency mandated trainings including Medication Administration
Must be willing to authorize a Criminal History Background Check (CORI), and Fingerprinting check through National Criminal Background Check (NCBC) and release of information concerning allegations from Disabled Persons Protection Commission (DPPC), Department of Developmental Services (DDS), and other agencies
Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.
Language Skills
Must be fluent in English and have the ability to read, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively with individuals under supervision, employees of the organization, families, and members of the community. Ability to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
