Position Summary:
We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager (APM) to support our Project Managers in overseeing all phases of multifamily construction projects from inception through completion. The APM will play a vital role in project planning, coordination, and execution, ensuring that projects remain on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with quality standards and specifications. This role requires strong organizational skills, technical knowledge, and the ability to collaborate effectively with subcontractors, stakeholders, and internal teams.
Project Support & Oversight
Assist the Project Manager in managing and overseeing all aspects of assigned projects.
Participate in project site walkthroughs and monitor progress to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and safety standards.
Support the development of project schedules and coordinate trade durations with subcontractors.
Preconstruction & Estimating
Assist in developing detailed cost estimates and budgets.
Perform document take-offs and assemble bid documents for pricing.
Create and update trade scope sheets and bid spreadsheets for subcontractor pricing.
Draft preliminary scopes of work in accordance with project plans and specifications.
Procurement & Submittals
Support the submittal, procurement, and review process.
Review shop drawings and compare them against construction documents and specifications.
Maintain subcontractor databases and coordinate the distribution of requisitions.
Construction Management
Coordinate with general contractors, subcontractors, and vendors to maintain alignment with project objectives.
Track subcontractor requisitions and ensure timely processing.
Assist with ensuring compliance with safety standards, building codes, and local, state, and federal regulations.
Stakeholder Communication & Reporting
Assist the Project Manager in serving as a liaison between internal teams, clients, contractors, and external stakeholders.
Facilitate clear communication, regular updates, and progress reports to maintain transparency across all parties.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
3–5 years of experience in construction or project management.
Strong ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
Excellent organizational, management, and communication skills.
Familiarity with project management software is a plus.
Field management experience preferred.
Ability to safely navigate a construction site, including climbing ladders, stairs, and exposure to inclement weather or hazardous conditions.
