Description

The Assistant Project Superintendent supports the Project Superintendent in managing field operations

and ensuring project objectives are met safely, on time, and within budget. This role involves active

learning and development to prepare for increased responsibilities within the construction supervision

field.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

The Assistant Project Superintendent is a professional with a basic understanding of construction methods

and processes. Strong organizational and time-management skills are required to help ensure projects are

completed on time and within budget. With effective communication skills, the Assistant Project

Superintendent will have excellent verbal and written communication abilities. Must be Proficient in

reading and understanding blueprints and project specifications. Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

JOB DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Project Support: Assist the Project Superintendent in managing on-site construction activities, ensuring

quality control, adherence to project plans, and timely completion of tasks.

Coordination: Participate in weekly project meetings, pre-construction meetings, and daily check-ins

with subcontractors and other project stakeholders.

Documentation: Help prepare daily reports, including photos and updates on project progress, for

inclusion in weekly project updates.

Safety Oversight: Enforce company safety plans on-site, conduct safety inspections, and participate in

weekly safety meetings.

Learning & Development: Actively learn project management best practices, construction techniques,

and applicable regulatory requirements.

Communication: Foster effective communication with owners, teams, and other stakeholders to

maintain a positive project environment.

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE

• A high school diploma or equivalent required; construction-related degree or coursework

preferred.

• Minimum of 1–3 years of experience in construction or related fields.

• OSHA 30 and CPR/First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain within the first six

months.
