Job Description - Assistant Regional Director

Job Title: Assistant Regional Director



Job Location: Baton Rouge, Covington, and New Orleans, Louisiana



Job Status: Full-time, exempt



Job Summary: The primary functions of the Assistant Regional Director are to administratively support the Regional Director’s leadership of regional staff, support regional operations, and support efforts to ensure that sufficient funds are available to support Unbound Now’s programs and operations, including fundraising events, and collaborating with other development-engaged staff in fundraising on behalf of Unbound Now as a whole. 



As this job description is unique to the expanded Assistant Regional Director role, specific responsibilities and outcomes may be modified as the regional structure is refined.

Schedule/Availability: Generally, 8:30-5:30 Monday-Friday; occasional evenings and weekends; anticipated 40-50 hours/week



Working Conditions: Work is performed in a normal office environment or other professional environment. Work duties may, on rare occasions, be performed in an environment requiring exposure to weather extremes, fumes, odors, and noise.



Travel: This position requires travel throughout the service region and may require travel for training and team/professional development opportunities.



Job Responsibilities:



  • Support staff and teams within the region, scheduling regular team meetings and supporting a staff culture in alignment with Unbound Now’s HOPE principles

  • Supporting regional operations, including regional facilities and supplies, regional team calendars, in-kind donations, and volunteer interest, in collaboration with the Louisiana Program Administrator 

  • Support regional development efforts with a majority of work time, including event coordination, in coordination with Unbound Now’s development team. Encourage gifts “where most needed,” accepting donations restricted to location or program only as requested by the donor.

  • Support the regional Sage manager, monitor expenses, ensuring that expenses are properly coded and stay within budget, in collaboration with the Louisiana Program Administrator 

  • Support the onboarding of regional staff, in coordination with the Regional Director 

  • Support efforts to communicate regional successes and impact  effectively to funders, volunteers, Unbound Now, and the community

  • Support regional staff in developing good relationships with local agencies and organizations, community leaders, elected officials, churches, businesses, and individuals in the region to ensure a collaborative approach to combating trafficking and supporting survivors

  • Represent Unbound Now at events within the region

  • Support regional efforts to lead and engage in local task forces/coalitions

  • Support efforts to develop and engage regional advisory board(s) geared toward supporting Unbound Now’s development efforts

  • Respond to regional email and phone inquiries promptly in collaboration with other regional staff 

  • Participate in weekly team meetings

  • Submit expense documentation properly and within required time frames per the company expense policy, and follow all Ramp Monthly Closeout Instructions and Process

  • Submit travel reimbursements daily, adhering to all travel guidelines

  • Submit time-sheet hours/grant allocations daily, adhering to grant guidelines (if applicable)

  • Complete all Unbound Now required training on time



Desired Outcomes:



  • Staff and volunteers are equipped, unified, motivated, and fully engaged in Unbound Now’s anti-trafficking and survivor-support work; exhibiting Unbound Now’s HOPE principles for staff culture; and engaged in Unbound Now as a whole, as well as their local team

  • Smoothly flowing day-to-day operations and overall operational health and compliance with Unbound Now policies and procedures, in alignment with HQ and Unbound Now as a whole

  • Financial provision for Unbound Now’s programs and operations

  • Regional advisory board(s) informed and empowered to support Unbound Now as a whole

  • Strong, collaborative working relationships within the region, facilitated by professional interface with and prompt response to community requests



Working Relationships:


Reports to: Regional Director


Works with: Regional staff; regional coalition(s) and/or task force(s); Unbound Now development team; Unbound Now HQ staff


Supervises: Community Outreach and Training Volunteers, - Processed through the Vomo platform, and Interns processed through the HRIS Bamboo platform



Education and Experience 



  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in social work, leadership, non-profit management, or a related field.

  • Supervisory experience.  

  • Experience working with vulnerable populations

  • Proven leadership, coaching, culture-building, and relationship management experience.

  • Proven ability to develop community partnerships.

  • Proven experience in grant or fundraising efforts. 



Job Requirements:



  • Mature Christian faith, as evidenced by participation in a local Christian church.

  • Strong commitment to the mission and values of Unbound Now.



  • Agree to take and pass a criminal background check and pass employment authorization verification.

  • Provide at least three references (supervisor, other professional, and personal).

  • Abide by Unbound Now policies at all times.

  • Strong administrative and nonprofit development experience, with a track record of success.

  • Attention to detail in administrative responsibilities.

  • Demonstrated supervisory experience with a high level of accountability.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent interpersonal and multidisciplinary project skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a high-speed, professional setting.

  • Ability to engage others (including regional staff, volunteers, donors, advisory board members, and community leaders) in Unbound Now’s mission.

  • Ability to operationalize strategies that can take Unbound Now to its next stage of growth in coordination with Unbound Now’s strategic plan.

  • Excellence in organizational management with the ability to support staff and teams, achieve strategic objectives, contain expenses within a budget, and complete time-sensitive projects with excellence.

  • Knowledge of the field of human trafficking and the programs and operations of Unbound Now.

  • Action-oriented and adaptable. 

  • Ability to work effectively in collaboration with others.

  • Strong service ethic and commitment to excellence.

  • Positive and innovative problem solver.

  • Ability and willingness to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information.

  • Willingness to use personal vehicle for work travel; valid driver’s license; reliable vehicle; current car insurance.

  • Ability to stay hope-filled in the fight against human trafficking.

  • Submit expense documentation properly and within the required time frames per the company’s expense policy.

  • Card Managers are responsible for reviewing each team member’s spend and assessing adherence to policy weekly, and following all Ramp Monthly Closeout Instructions and Process in collaboration with the Louisiana Program Administrator.

  • Submit travel reimbursements daily and approve TripLog weekly, adhering to all travel guidelines.

  • Review and approve timesheets bi-weekly, identifying whether grant allocations are met.

  • Complete all Unbound Now required training on time.



Physical and Driving Requirements



  • Demands include sitting for long periods at a computer and repetitive hand motions from frequent keyboarding.

  • Demands frequently require close visual attention and prolonged mental concentration.

  • Demands frequent video calls.

  • Ability to drive personal vehicles and maintain proper insurance coverage.

  • Demands sometimes require the ability to lift loads of up to 50 pounds.
