Job Description - Assistant Safety Manager II - Construction
The Greenridge Group is a prime contractor and consulting firm specializing in Project and Construction Management for major public-sector agencies.
Are you passionate about construction safety and want to be part of major infrastructure projects? We’re looking for an Assistant Safety Manager II to support high-impact aviation construction projects in Los Angeles.
Salary Range: $165K/Year-$180K/Year - Dependent on Candidate's Qualifications
Key Responsibilities:
Partner with contractors, inspectors, and project teams to ensure effective safety programs are implemented
Perform daily site walks and safety inspections across active construction projects
Conduct Task Hazard Analysis (THA) audits and document safety observations
Review and evaluate contractor Safety Plans and compliance
Monitor safety performance, incident reports, and corrective actions
Support compliance with Cal OSHA regulations and safety protocols
Participate in safety meetings, including project safety committees and training sessions
Assist in promoting a proactive, behavior-based safety culture
Prepare clear, detailed safety reports and documentation
Minimum 5 years of construction safety experience (vertical, heavy civil, or tunnel projects)
Active BCSP certification (CHST or higher)
Strong knowledge of construction safety standards and Cal OSHA
Ability to work onsite and perform extensive field walks daily
Excellent communication and reporting skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience on airport or aviation-related projects (LAWA preferred)
Familiarity with PMWeb or construction management software
Experience conducting safety training (e.g., Cal OSHA, CPR/First Aid)
Supervisory or leadership experience in safety roles
Bilingual skills (a plus)
