Job Description - Assistant Sales Manager

JOB TITLE: Assistant Sales Manager

REPORTS TO:      Sales Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:  Assist sales managers by overseeing the sales staff and developing and implementing strategies to improve company sales. Helps to promotes Lancaster Bingo products by using marketing strategies and company promotions.  

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Supports company and regional sales objectives for their region and sales representatives; projects expected sales volume and profit for existing and new products. 

• Implements regional sales programs and promotions by developing and implementing field sales action plans. 

• Supervising and guiding the sales team, as well as providing incentives to motivate staff to achieve sales targets.

• Monitoring the performance of the sales team.

• Responsible for sales associates’ schedules. Coordinates the sales associates’ activities to cover routes, and deliver merchandise.  

• Ensures the sales associates are trained to enhance sales and create effective customer service while salespersons are on leave and increase merchandise sales on routes.  

• Introduces sales techniques, merchandise, products, and equipment to sales staff. 

• Performs evaluations of individual sales routes and provides the Sales Manager with input regarding market potential and development.

• Travels with Sales Representatives on a bi-weekly basis to evaluate performance based on the following criteria: 

1. Vehicle organization, cleanliness, and overall appearance. 

2. Correct utilization of pricing and invoice processes. 

3. Accuracy of merchandise orders to fulfill the needs of the customer. 

4. Appropriate and timely transfer of merchandise. 

5. Adequate utilization of note taking. 

6. Timeliness and efficient scheduling of the sale and transfer of merchandise to customers. 

7. Timely, convenient collections from the sales of merchandise from customers. 

• Creates a monthly informational list comprising of potential new games/merchandise and waning sales on existing games/merchandise. 

• Effectively communicates monthly LBC meeting information to Sales Representatives on a timely schedule

• Evaluates new product training and testing for new sales trainees. 

• Reviews N/A’s on transfers. 

Requirements

 

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIRMENTS: 

• High School diploma or equivalency

• Four years sales experience and product knowledge at Lancaster Bingo Company

• Strong verbal, written, analytical, and interpersonal skills

• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English well

• Strong ability to organize and prioritize workload; strong ability to meet deadlines

FLSA STATUS:    Exempt
