Assistant Superintendent – Custom & Semi-Custom New Home Construction

Location: Port St. Lucie to West Palm Beach, FL (local candidates only)

Base Salary: Under $100,000 + guaranteed first-year bonus + vehicle allowance

About the Opportunity

This custom homebuilder is hiring with the next five to ten years in mind. It's looking for an Assistant Superintendent who has done the job before, wants to move up within the next year or two, and intends to grow with the company.

The timing works in your favor. Over the past year and a half, the team has grown from 2 homes to 10, and next year is forecast at 20. The backlog is in place, and the company is building the field team to deliver it.

The business is part of a multi-state development group with a financially strong foundation and has been building on Florida's east coast for eight years. Every home is custom or semi-custom, and every project is new construction, with build budgets of roughly $2M–$3M in Wellington and $2.5M–$4M in West Palm Beach. Homes typically take 12–14 months from start to finish.

The Role

Superintendents here don't get one home each. They run multiple homes at the same time, and their job is to push the schedule, push the trades, and make sure the details are watched every day. As Assistant Superintendent, you'll be the extra set of eyes and hands that makes that possible across every site, while learning exactly how the company builds and what it expects in the field.

What You'll Get to Accomplish

• Support the superintendent in delivering multiple custom and semi-custom homes on schedule, on budget, and to the company's quality standards.
• Walk homes daily to check progress and the quality of trade work, flag issues early, and help hold trade partners accountable.
• Contribute to the project schedule the superintendent builds, keeping the superintendent and PM informed so the schedule stays accurate.
• Help protect the budget by verifying trade work in the field and making sure only true extras get paid.
• Coordinate on site with trade partners, homeowners, and municipal inspectors as needed.
• Drive closeout alongside the superintendent: work through punch items before closing, support homeowner orientations, and help with warranty requests.
• Keep jobsites clean and safe, in line with OSHA standards and stormwater pollution control requirements.

What You'll Bring

• Prior experience as an Assistant Superintendent or in a similar field role on residential new construction. You've done it at least once.
• A working knowledge of how homes are built, whether your background is in production, semi-custom, custom, or luxury homebuilding.
• The drive to step up into more responsibility within the next year or two.
• Comfort working in BuilderTrend and Microsoft Teams, which the team uses every day.
• A stable work history, with clear reasons behind each career move.
• Residence in the local market, between Port St. Lucie and West Palm Beach.

Remodel-only backgrounds are not a fit for this role.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary under $100,000, paid bi-weekly
• Guaranteed first-year bonus, subject to completing your first year
• Flat vehicle allowance of approximately $570 per month
