Assistant Teacher - Early Preschool (Ages 2-4 years)

We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and collaborative Assistant Teacher to support our Early Preschool classroom (ages 2–4). This role is an exciting opportunity to join a nurturing, play-based environment where educators honor children’s curiosity and growth. 

The Assistant Teacher works closely with the Lead and Mentor Teachers to provide high-quality care and learning experiences for young children. This position supports daily routines, fosters children’s social and emotional development, and helps maintain a clean, safe, and engaging classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the teaching team to implement developmentally appropriate curriculum and classroom activities
• Engage with children during play, mealtimes, naptime, and transitions, ensuring safety and connection
• Support children’s emotional well-being through positive guidance, conflict resolution, and responsive interactions
• Assist with classroom management and behavior support using respectful, child-centered approaches
• Maintain classroom cleanliness and organization, following health and safety procedures
• Build trusting relationships with families by offering daily updates and observations
• Participate in staff meetings, ongoing professional development, and team planning
• Uphold school policies, including confidentiality, child protection, and emergency procedures

• High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework in Early Childhood Education preferred
• Colorado Shines Level 2 Credential
• Prior experience working with young children in a group setting
• Familiarity with child development principles and best practices
• Warm, patient, and responsive approach to working with children
• Effective communication and teamwork skills
• Dependability and a willingness to learn and grow

The pay for this position is $21.90 - $25.80/hour . Although this is a good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible compensation at the time of posting, Colorado Academy reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range. Any wage differential that may exist for the position does not relate to sex, gender or gender identity, but relates solely to a seniority system, a merit system, or relevant education, training and/or experience. Medical, Dental, Vision and Life Insurance benefit programs are available, as is a 403(b) retirement plan. Eligibility for all benefit programs is defined by the applicable plan document.
