The Goddard School® located in Alpharetta, GA 30022 is seeking a nurturing, dependable, and enthusiastic Assistant Teacher to support our Early Preschool classroom, working with children ages 2.5 to 3 years old. This is a crucial stage of development where children grow more independent, develop language, and begin early social-emotional and cognitive learning.

Key Responsibilities:

Classroom Support
Partner with the Lead Teacher to create a warm, structured, and engaging environment using our Wonder of Learning® curriculum, supporting play-based and developmentally appropriate learning experiences.

Child Supervision
Ensure the safety, well-being, and active supervision of all children in your care during daily routines, play, meals, and transitions.

Daily Care
Assist with toileting, self-help skills, mealtime routines, and classroom organization while promoting independence and confidence in young children.

Engagement
Interact with children at their level to support learning, encourage curiosity, and model positive behavior and language.

Communication
Support classroom communication with families by sharing daily updates and milestones in partnership with the Lead Teacher.

Team Collaboration
Work closely with your teaching team and school leadership to maintain consistency, positivity, and a shared vision for classroom success.

Professional Growth
Participate in ongoing professional development and training to continue growing in your role and early education career.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED required

CDA or enrollment in Early Childhood Education coursework preferred

Experience working with toddlers or preschool-aged children in a licensed setting is a plus

Completion of state-required pre-service training or willingness to complete upon hire

Strong teamwork and communication skills

Patience, enthusiasm, and a genuine love for working with young children

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with the care of children
