Position Overview:
We are seeking a warm, dependable, and nurturing Assistant Teacher to join our Infant Room team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about early childhood development and dedicated to creating a safe, stimulating, and loving environment for infants (ages 6 weeks to 18 months).
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Lead Teacher in daily care routines, including feeding, diapering, napping, and soothing infants
- Engage infants in age-appropriate sensory activities and early STEM exploration through play
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment
- Build strong, trusting relationships with babies, parents, and staff
- Assist with documentation of developmental milestones and daily communication with families
- Collaborate with the Lead Teacher and team to implement individualized care and learning plans
- Uphold all licensing and health/safety guidelines
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous experience with infants in a childcare setting strongly preferred
- Passion for nurturing young children and supporting their early growth
- Ability to work collaboratively with a teaching team
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Patience, reliability, and a warm, caring personality
