Job Summary:
Santa Cruz is a vibrant, growing church of over 3,500 families in Buda, Texas. We are actively seeking a new team member who will assist the work of the Director of Stewardship and Development. This position will support the mission of Santa Cruz Catholic Church & School by assisting with donor relations, events, and publicity. We are seeking a learner, hard worker, who is able to take this role and infuse creativity, adaptability, and strong organizational skills to enhance the school's and church’s outreach efforts. This position will have the opportunity to learn from a strong team of leaders who seek excellence.
Ministerial Character
The Pastor is the visible principle and foundation of unity in the Parish (Santa Cruz Catholic Church), which the Bishop has entrusted to him. He makes Christ’s mission present and enduring in the parish. In order to fulfill his mission, the Pastor employs suitable, chosen collaborators (clerics, religious, or lay people). He shares with them his mission and entrusts various responsibilities to them.
Positions employed at Santa Cruz Catholic Church help to extend the ministry of the Pastor in particular ways as outlined in the job description. Therefore, the employee in this position is closely connected to and assists the Pastor in the performance of his ministry and thereby engages in ministry for the Church.
Essential Job Duties:
Development Support
As an integral part of your ministry for the Church as carried out in this position, support and uphold the philosophy of Catholic ministry and the mission of Santa Cruz Catholic Church in both your professional and personal life.
Act as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic Church.
Continuously grow in your ministry by participating in religious ceremonies, training sessions, and reflection activities as directed.
Assist the Director of Development with donor follow-up and outreach.
Manage backend donor tasks, including tracking contributions and preparing reports.
Help plan, organize and execute fundraising initiatives and stewardship events.
Provide administrative support as needed, ensuring smooth operations in the development office.
Organizing stewardship reports and financial summaries
Drafting newsletters, social media posts, and donor thank-you letters
Assisting with marketing materials, flyers, and campaign promotions
Ensuring branding and messaging align with the church and school’s mission
Assisting in outreach to parishioners, school families, and alumni
Helping coordinate donor appreciation initiatives
Supporting church ministries and school fundraising programs
Event support (Some weekends and/or evenings)
Publicity
Develop creative content for both the Church and School, including graphics, videos, and written posts.
Manage and schedule posts across Meta (Facebook, Instagram) and other relevant platforms.
Take photos and videos at events, edit content, and optimize for various platforms.
Assist in designing flyers, brochures, and other marketing materials using InDesign and Canva.
Draft and distribute communications for the community, including newsletters and announcements, and bulletin.
Ensure consistency in branding and messaging across all platforms.
Translate written materials from English to Spanish as needed.
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong attention to detail
Knowledge of InDesign, Meta (Facebook & Instagram), Google Suite, Microsoft Office and Canva.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with donors.
Strong and creative writing and communication ability to craft compelling communications skills in both English and Spanish (bilingual preferred).
Understanding of fundraising principles and best practices.
Ability to adapt to last-minute changes while working in a fast-paced environment.
Creative mindset with a desire to grow in stewardship and communications with donors
Collaborative team player with strong organizational skills, while also able to work independently
Passion for advancing the mission of Santa Cruz Catholic Church & School.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education and Trainings:
High School diploma with additional years of experience beyond the established job experience requirement for this position may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Bachelor’s Degree requirement.
Experience:
Three (3) years of full-time, wage- earning, general reception/volunteer coordination experience
Two (2) years of experience in word processing, publishing software, and data system computer programs.
Language:
English (Proficient in conversing, reading and writing)
Catholic Requirement:
Must be a practicing Roman Catholic in good standing.
Licenses/Certifications:
Valid Texas driver’s license.
Must maintain compliance with the Diocese of Austin Ethics and Integrity in Ministry (EIM) policies throughout the employment period.
