Job Description - Assistant Vice President for Marketing, Multimedia, and Community Outreach

Under the guidance and direction of the Vice President of Championships, Marketing, and Sports Governance and President/CEO the Assistant Vice President for Marketing, Multimedia, and Community Outreach provides management and support in the following areas: internal and external communication, NJCAA digital productions, relationship development and building within the local, regional, and national community, relationship development on behalf of the NJCAA Foundation, and special projects as assigned within division. This position also serves and represents the national association on a regional and national level and provides outstanding leadership in both athletic and academic endeavors. Represent the NJCAA with the highest level of respect, while championing the association to provide opportunities for all associated with two-year college athletics.

Duties and Responsibilities
Lead and manage overall marketing and communications efforts of the NJCAA and its affiliate associations;
Serve as spokesperson for NJCAA when necessary;
Maintain needed relationships with external marketing professionals and agencies;
Develop and lead a team of marketing and multimedia associates;
Attend community events on behalf of the NJCAA under direction of the president and CEO;
Travel and attend NJCAA professional events as necessary.
Serve as co-Assistant Executive Director of the NJCAA Foundation, with an emphasis on developing local and corporate partnerships;
Serves as liaison to NJCAA Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Council; &.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications – Education, Experience, and Skills
Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree strongly preferred with a major/minor in business management, human resource management, organizational development, social science or a related field; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
Seven or more years of professional experience in an operations and/or financial management role preferably in an athletics industry setting. Management and supervisory experience required.
Demonstrates communication skills, organization, leadership, planning, and conflict management.
A good command of Microsoft Office, Adobe Suite application software, current social media platforms, Quickbooks, statistical input entry platforms, and website maintenance.
The ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to establish positive public relations and to interact effectively with staff, member colleges, athletic directors, student-athletes, fans, and the public.
The ability to establish and maintain collaborative, effective working relationships with team members, member colleges, athletic directors, student-athletes and the public.
Problem solving skills, judgment, decisiveness, and creativity in evaluating information.
The ability to write effectively and efficiently.
The ability to work as an individual and as part of a team.
Must be efficient and organized with a high level of attention to detail.
