About the Role
The Company is seeking an Assistant Vice President for Title IX and Discrimination, Harassment, and Retaliation. This senior compliance officer will be responsible for the strategic leadership, advising, and decision-making in a comprehensive range of university services and resources to ensure a campus environment free from protected status discrimination, retaliation, and harassment. The role involves directing and managing the implementation of relevant policies, coordinating compliance with laws, overseeing the Title IX/DHR team, and leading training, education, and communication efforts on discrimination and harassment issues. The successful candidate will also be tasked with supervising and hiring staff, enhancing office efficiency, and collaborating with the Chancellor's office to create a high-performing equity office.Applicants for the Assistant Vice President for Title IX and Discrimination, Harassment, and Retaliation position should possess a Master's degree in a relevant discipline, with a preference for social work, psychology, forensic psychology, or higher education administration. A Juris Doctor or equivalent is also preferred. The ideal candidate will have experience as a strategic leader of a Title IX/DHR compliance office in a university setting, as well as experience as an equity administrator at a public institution or within the state of California. The role requires a candidate who can effectively manage a team, implement policies, and work collaboratively to ensure a sustainable and high-performing equity office.
