This position is based in the following office location:

The AVPAA, being a delegated extension of the VPAA, translates institutional academic priorities into aligned and measurable practices across Academic Affairs. You will improve consistency in academic affairs, strengthening academic quality and student outcomes, and ensuring follow-through on important projects while respecting faculty governance and established academic leadership structures.

  • Ensure application and operational integrity of academic processes. Oversee policy workflows, resolve complex policy questions, and reduce inconsistencies or escalations across schools.
  • Oversee academic quality processes, including program review and assessment cycles. Ensure completion, integrity, and use of assessment results to support accreditation readiness for us.
  • Provide leadership for academic components of student success efforts, including oversight of First Year Seminar and related projects. Support improvements in student persistence, progression, and academic experience.
  • Guide priority programs and special projects as delegated by the VPAA, ensuring cross-unit coordination, clear accountability, and measurable outcomes.
  • Partner with Enrollment Management, Student Affairs, Institutional Research, and other units to align academic and co-curricular strategies and support shared student outcomes.
  • Provide strategic oversight of faculty development efforts in collaboration with the Center for Teaching and Learning, ensuring understanding of institutional priorities and teaching effectiveness goals.
  • Oversee coordination of experiential learning programs, ensuring understanding of curriculum, academic quality standards, and institutional priorities.
  • Provide oversight of study away and global learning initiatives to ensure academic rigor, compliance, and alignment with institutional and accreditation expectations.
  • Promote operational transparency, and a collaborative culture within Academic Affairs. Provide stability and coordination during periods of transition.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned. Job responsibilities can change at any time, with or without notice.

What we're looking for:

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in Academic Affairs or higher education administration, including leadership of complex, academic programs
  • Earned doctorate or terminal degree from a regionally accredited institution
  • Experience leading cross-functional projects, translating, strategy into execution, managing teams/programs, and leading organization understanding.
