**Position Overview:**
The purpose of the Associate Architectural Project Manager (AKA Associate Architectural Sales Consultant) is to develop top candidates who are interested in a career in outside sales with Marvin. The associate works with regional sales colleagues and leaders to grow their product knowledge, sales abilities, and professional capabilities by developing new business, building awareness and loyalty, and ultimately driving sales of the Marvin Collections to architectural and commercial design professionals.
**Position Responsibilities:**
* Gain and develop an understanding on how to prospect, identify, and build relationships with members of the architectural community whose influence will lead to specification and purchase of the Marvin brands.
* Develop and maintain positive relationships with decision-makers through use of creative problem solving and timely responses
* Provide product and technical solutions on individual project opportunities
* Work as a team with local territory managers and retail sales representatives to strategize on how to close projects
* Utilize CRM (Salesforce.com) to maximize sales efforts and efficiency
* Work with and learn from local Architectural Project Managers and Regional Manager to hone skills of creating and implementing strategic sales plans
* Conduct product presentations, including AIA Continuing Educational learning units to architectural firms
* Plan and host factory tours in Warroad with targeted architects and designers
* Represent Marvin at trade shows and events
* Identify and communicate market conditions, trends, and the competitive environment
* Assist sales leadership in the development of new programs and processes
* Participate in progress meetings with the Regional Manager to identify and document achievement of performance metrics

* Read and interpret construction documents and specifications
* Navigate CAD-based design
* Desire to develop an aptitude for strategic and critical thinking skills
* Demonstrated planning, time management, and organizational skills
* Aptitude to manage through ambiguity and lead change; self-starter; self-confidence with humility
* Ability to anticipate potential issues; ability to quickly formulate options to resolve issues; innovative thinking
* Collaborator; able to build and maintain relationships on multiple levels
* Work with and leverage technology to maximize effectiveness in sales role (Microsoft Office Suite, Salesforce.com, and various software applications)
* Ability to frequently travel within territory, including some overnights; valid drivers license is required.
* Periodically lift up to 50 lbs.
**Education & Experience**
* Bachelors or technical degree in an architectural, construction, or business-related field
* Construction Documents Technologist (CDT) certification, or obtain within 2 years of employment
* Preferred: Prior exposure to the building materials industry and/or a sales function
