Job Description - Associate/ Associate Counsel, Casting Administration

Come be a part of what\u2019s next.\n\nThe Opportunity\n\nThe Casting Business Affairs Team at Netflix is seeking an experienced professional for an associate role to support the US/Canada/UK Scripted Series group. Members of this team are the subject matter experts on engaging guest performers, stunt performers, singers and dancers to work on Netflix\u0027s award winning scripted series. \n\nThe Role\n\nIn Casting Business Affairs you will play a primary role in structuring, negotiating, and drafting guest performer deals and agreements, collaborating with internal and external partners to oversee the entire process necessary for guest performers on a production. This includes coordinating with casting, business and legal affairs, production, accounting, post-production, credits, residuals, and other internal and external teams throughout all stages of a series from pre-production to production and post-production. Your adaptability and capacity to work proactively under tight timeframes will be crucial as you navigate this dynamic environment that is ever changing. Candidates should embrace and advocate for cultural diversity while upholding the highest standards of professionalism and integrity. \n\nResponsibilities\n\n * Work closely with external casting to advise on deal structure and strategy for guest performers.\n\n * Serve as the primary point of contact between Netflix and talent agents and attorneys regarding guest performer agreements.\n\n * Review and approve project-specific guest performer deals, ensuring accuracy, signatures, and payment details.\n\n * Advise and educate producers, casting, production, finance, post-production, and business affairs teams (in-house and external partners) on the requirements under SAG-AFTRA (and/or other performer union) contracts.\n\n * Work closely with in-house Creative Casting to provide optimal support to external partners.\n\n * Provide guidance to post-production regarding cast contract requirements when modifying scenes, including moving, splitting, and deleting scenes, as well as ADR/Loop Group payments.\n\n * Coordinate with Screen Credits, Residuals, and Legal Delivery teams to maintain an efficient workflow.\n\n * Willingness to work on new subjects outside area of expertise, take on special projects, and support all areas of the Casting Business Affairs Team as the need arises\n\n\n\n\nRequirements\n\n * High proficiency in contract review, structuring, and drafting, as well as negotiating complex talent/performer agreements.\n\n * Experience with SAG-AFTRA, ACTRA and/or UBCP Collective Bargaining Agreements\n\n * Familiarity with the production process and the key players\n\n * Exhibit sound judgment and adept critical thinking skills in various situations, enabling effective problem-solving and decision-making.\n\n * Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills \n\n\n\n\nPreferred\n\n * BA/BS degree, JD applicants welcome \n\n * Comprehensive knowledge of SAG rules and deal structures for guest performers\n\n * Experience with Google Suite, i.e., Google Docs, Google Sheets\n\n\n\n\nGenerally, our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $140,000.00 - $230,000.00.\n\nNetflix provides comprehensive benefits including Health Plans, Mental Health support, a 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer match, Stock Option Program, Disability Programs, Health Savings and Flexible Spending Accounts, Family-forming benefits, and Life and Serious Injury Benefits. We also offer paid leave of absence programs. Full-time hourly employees accrue 35 days annually for paid time off to be used for vacation, holidays, and sick paid time off.
