Nowak & Stauch, PLLC, represents businesses in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex and throughout North Texas in a broad spectrum of commercial disputes. We concentrate much of our practice on construction, real estate and nonsubscriber liability claims. In addition, we represent clients in commercial collections, insurance defense, commercial trucking, oil and gas litigation and employment litigation.

Our lawyers have extensive experience and are able to quickly assess the issues presented in a given case. Our attorneys are skilled negotiators and trial-tested litigators, and have achieved exceptional outcomes for our clients.

Associate Attorney (3–5 Years Experience)
Commercial Litigation | Construction | Real Estate Litigation
Our growing boutique law firm is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney with 3–5 years of litigation experience to join our team. This role is ideal for an attorney who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys managing cases independently, and is looking for meaningful hands-on litigation experience in a collaborative small-firm setting.

About the Role
This position focuses primarily on commercial litigation, construction litigation, and real estate-related disputes, with a strong emphasis on defense work for home builder clients.

The ideal candidate is confident handling litigation matters from inception through resolution with minimal supervision. This is not a role requiring business development or an existing book of business—we are looking for a strong practitioner who can step in, take ownership of files, and contribute immediately.

Key Responsibilities

Independently manage a litigation caseload from pre-suit through trial preparation and resolution
Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests/responses, and legal correspondence
Conduct legal research and prepare strategic case analyses
Manage depositions, hearings, mediations, and client communications
Coordinate with paralegals and support staff throughout the lifecycle of each matter
Develop and execute litigation strategy with partner oversight as needed
Represent clients in commercial, construction, and real estate disputes

Ideal Candidate Profile

3–5 years of litigation experience required
Experience in commercial litigation, construction litigation, and/or real estate litigation strongly preferred
Ability to independently manage files with confidence and sound judgment
Strong writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills
Comfortable working in a high-volume, fast-moving legal environment
Self-starter with strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Licensed and in good standing with the applicable state bar

Comes from a purely transactional practice (estate planning, closings, document-heavy advisory work)
Prefers highly structured environments with narrowly defined responsibilities
Requires significant day-to-day handholding or oversight
