Job Description

What you will be doing:



  • Manage family law cases from initial consultation through resolution and trial.

  • Meet with clients to evaluate legal issues, develop case strategies, and provide ongoing counsel.

  • Draft and review pleadings, petitions, motions, declarations, settlement agreements, and other legal documents.

  • Analyze financial records, discovery materials, and case-related documentation.

  • Conduct legal research and prepare case strategies.

  • Handle all phases of discovery, including drafting and responding to discovery requests.

  • Represent clients at hearings, mediations, settlement conferences, and court appearances.

  • Take and defend depositions.

  • Prepare cases for trial and serve as lead or supporting counsel during trial proceedings.

  • Maintain accurate case files and ensure compliance with court deadlines and procedural requirements.

  • Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to achieve favorable client outcomes.

Experience you will need:



  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

  • Active license and good standing with the Washington State Bar, or ability to obtain admission promptly.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Excellent organizational and case management abilities.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced litigation environment.

  • 3-7 years of family law litigation experience preferred.

  • Experience handling hearings, depositions, and trials.

  • Strong negotiation and client counseling skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage a caseload.
