Associate Attorney - Insurance Defense

Pay: $130,000.00 - $185,000.00 per year

Location

Los Angeles, CA. Hybrid schedule with four days per week in the office and one remote day permitted.

Note

An active California Bar license in good standing is the primary requirement. We are open to attorneys at any experience level, including newly admitted attorneys. Prior insurance defense experience is helpful but not required.

Job Description

• Assist with and manage civil litigation and insurance defense matters
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, correspondence, and other legal documents
• Conduct legal research and prepare persuasive written analysis
• Assist with depositions, hearings, mediations, and other litigation proceedings
• Review case files, records, discovery, and evidence
• Communicate with clients, carriers, opposing counsel, and other parties
• Help develop litigation strategy and evaluate case issues
• Manage deadlines and maintain organized case files
• Work closely with experienced attorneys while taking on increasing responsibility
• Build practical litigation and Law and Motion skills

Qualifications

• Active California Bar admission in good standing
• Strong legal research and writing skills
• Interest in litigation and developing courtroom skills
• Professional communication and organizational skills
• Ability to manage deadlines and multiple assignments
• Ability to work in the Los Angeles office four days per week
• Insurance defense or civil litigation experience is preferred but not required
• Newly admitted attorneys are encouraged to apply
