Restructuring Attorney | Mid-Level Associate (2-4 Years) | New York, NY
A prestigious global law firm with over 100 years of distinguished practice is seeking an exceptional Restructuring Associate to join its dynamic team in Midtown Manhattan. This hybrid position offers the opportunity to work on sophisticated bankruptcy and restructuring matters while collaborating with leading practitioners in the field.
Job Responsibilities
Represent diverse clients including debtors, ad hoc committees, statutory committees, secured creditors, and asset purchasers in complex Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings
Handle out-of-court restructuring transactions and workouts, including cross-border restructuring matters
Conduct sophisticated legal research and draft compelling motions, briefs, and transactional documents
Participate in deposition and trial preparation as needed
Collaborate with attorneys across multiple practice groups and offices on integrated legal solutions
Manage multiple restructuring projects simultaneously while meeting critical deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Serve as an integral member of high-performing, collaborative deal teams
Provide strategic counsel on distressed M&A transactions and asset sales
Job Requirements
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from a top 50 ABA-accredited law school
2-4 years of restructuring and bankruptcy law experience
Active membership in the New York State Bar in good standing
Previous experience at an AmLaw 200 law firm required
Proven track record of academic and professional excellence
Exceptional legal research, analytical, and writing abilities
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively in team environments
Demonstrated ability to handle complex matters with minimal supervision
Deposition and trial experience preferred but not required
