Job Description - Associate Corporate Counsel

The Staff Pad has partnered with one of Colorado’s largest
accounts receivable management companies to hire an Associate Corporate Counsel. Headquartered in Longmont, this industry leader works with
organizations across all 50 states, providing expert support in managing
revenue cycles. The Associate Corporate Counsel plays a critical role in providing legal support across compliance, litigation, and risk management. You will work closely with executive leadership, offering strategic legal counsel on regulatory matters and litigation related to collections. This is an in-office position requiring periodic travel for court appearances.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise leadership on legal risks, strategy, and compliance obligations

  • Oversee litigation and support alternative dispute resolution in collections matters

  • Ensure adherence to laws and regulations including FDCPA, Regulation F, FCRA, TCPA, and relevant state/local collection statutes

  • Provide support with licensing, audits, and regulatory inquiries

  • Draft legal documents, including motions, memoranda, and regulatory responses

  • Contribute to internal policy development around privacy, compliance, and risk mitigation

  • Represent the company in court appearances across various counties



Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent degree.

  • Licensed to practice law in Colorado or ability to obtain licensure promptly

  • Strong experience advising on federal, state, and local debt collection laws

  • Litigation background with defense experience under FDCPA or similar consumer statutes

  • Proficiency in compliance frameworks, licensing, and privacy law

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to translate complex legal concepts into practical, business-friendly guidance

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

  • Office-based with a moderate noise level, comfortable lighting, and standard work conditions

  • Occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs and travel for court proceedings

  • Regular use of a computer, phone, and standard office equipment
