Job Description - Associate - Cyber Incidents

Data, Privacy & Cybersecurity Associate | Incident Response | (2–4 Years)

Washington DC, New York, Boston, San Francisco, Palo Alto, Los Angeles, San Diego, Seattle, Austin, Century City
AmLaw 100 – Premier Cyber Incident & Privacy Counseling Practice

Our AmLaw 100 client is scaling one of the top cybersecurity legal teams in the country and is looking for a 2nd to 4th year associate attorney ready to dive deep into the evolving world of incident response, data privacy, and cybersecurity counseling.

If you're driven by complex, high-stakes problems and want to work shoulder-to-shoulder with industry-leading tech clients in the middle of their most sensitive matters, this is your move. This is not a back-office role, you'll be on the frontline advising major players in the tech space on real-time breach response, security investigations, and regulatory strategy across an increasingly fractured global privacy landscape.

What You'll Do:

  • Advise on major data breaches and cybersecurity incidents with immediate legal and strategic impact.

  • Counsel top technology companies and emerging disruptors on compliance, risk mitigation, and incident preparedness.

  • Work on tech transactions, M&A deals, and cross-border data matters that demand elite privacy insight.

  • Help shape the future of cybersecurity law alongside a team known for defining the space.

What They’re Looking For:

  • 2–4 years of law firm or relevant government experience in privacy, cybersecurity, or incident response.

  • Experience with federal/state agencies or cybersecurity-focused investigations is a strong plus.

  • Excellent academic law school credentials and standout written/oral communication skills.

  • Member of the state bar association of the location you are applying.

  • Based in or open to DC, NYC, Boston, SF, Palo Alto, LA, San Diego, Seattle, Austin, or Century City.

What You’ll Get:

  • $235,000 to $310,000 base salary + performance bonus.

  • Industry-leading benefits including IVF, adoption, and surrogacy support; wellness and mental health stipends; elite career coaching for parents; CLE/bar exam coverage; 401(k) with firm contributions — and more.

This is a rare opportunity to build real thought leadership in a fast-moving, high-impact practice at a firm trusted by the world's most sophisticated clients.

If you're ready to build your name in the cybersecurity space, we should talk.
