Job Description - Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) Faculty Recruiter (Grant Funded)

General Statement of Job

The ADN Faculty Recruiter is responsible for recruitment administration focused on attracting and efficiently hiring qualified and competent experienced faculty to teach within college's Associate Degree in Nursing program. The ADN Faculty Recruiter will develop and implement a comprehensive recruitment plan in collaboration with Nursing division leadership and in alignment with the Human Resources strategic plans. In addition, the ADN Faculty Recruiter integrates a thorough knowledge of human resource management with expertise in contemporary nursing practices and care delivery systems to design and manage recruitment initiatives that meet current and future staffing needs. Specific responsibilities include the development/implementation of recruitment plans, position advertising and marketing, screening and interview guides, applicant interviews and correspondence; relationship building and adherence to federal and state employment laws.

* Plan, implement and evaluate a comprehensive recruitment and selection program for ADN Faculty positions within the Division of Nursing.* Attend meetings with Staffing and Recruiting Manager and senior leadership as a subject matter expert on nurse recruitment related issues.* Initiate, lead, plan and execute all ADN Faculty recruitment events.* Research and compile data for reports to Staffing and Recruiting Manager and senior leadership, as needed.* Work with the Nursing Division Leadership team to identify priorities for recruitment.* Consult with Nursing Senior Management and applicable Human Resources dept staff to design strategies to fill critical positions, incorporating quality improvement and customer service principles into each strategy.* Monitor staffing needs on a weekly basis. Gather information on recruitment market, and utilize data in planning efforts.* Compose and coordinate placement of local, regional and/or national recruitment advertising.* Design, maintain and continually evaluate strategies to maximize communication with Nursing Division and Human Resources staff, and to proactively address potential problems.* Evaluate the efficacy, cost and impact of the recruitment program (including marketing and recruitment advertising), incorporating key measures to ensure effectiveness.* Facilitate process improvements and change focused on building efficiency and quality of recruitment processes.* Lead recruitment-related special projects within Recruitment and cross-functionally as assigned.* Facilitate the development of recruitment, marketing and informational material reflecting South Texas College's values and organizational brand/image.* Evaluate nursing publications/advertising and research media markets, to determine targeted, cost-effective campaigns for specialized positions.* Identify and attend state, regional or national nursing faculty recruitment events, including career fairs, open interviewing days, and/or university recruiting, as appropriate.* Develop targeted recruitment strategies such as advertising in clinical journals, targeted job fairs, and specific outreach and advocacy efforts.* Travel throughout the College as needed.* Performs other duties as assigned.

* Associate's Degree required, a focus in Human Resources, Nursing, Business Administration, or Healthcare field preferred.* Experience with employee recruitment, highly preferred.* Prior experience in higher education is highly preferred, but not required.

* Ability to manage and train staff in a team environment.* Ability to develop and implement strategic plans, budgets, goals and policies.* Experience developing and administering policies and procedures.* Excellent oral, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.* Strong knowledge of reporting requirements and records management.* Strong knowledge of federal and state employment law.* Strong employee relations skills.* Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with a multi-cultural college population.* Demonstrated commitment to achieving the vision and mission of South Texas College.* Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.* Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.* Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.* Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.* Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Checks, Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations

* Security Sensitive position: all applicants are subject to a criminal background check under South Texas College policy.* In addition, subject to a federal background check.* Must have or qualify for a valid Texas driver's license and proof of liability insurance.

Physical Requirements

* Exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force to move objects.* Frequently use substantial movements (motions) of the arms, wrist, hands, and/or fingers.* Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make the discrimination in sound.* Picking, pinching, typing, or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand as in handling.* Stand particularly for sustained periods of time.* Mobility to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another.* Exhibit close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; and/or extensive reading.* Ability to make rational decisions through sound logic and deductive processes.* Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word including the ability to convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately and concisely.
