Job Description - Associate Director, Business Development

OVERVIEW:
CRs New Products and Services division defines and discovers new ways to be relevant to consumers as a social enterprise, evaluate alternative business models, and nurture promising capabilities that could be scaled into bigger opportunities.

Associate Director, Business Development for New Initiatives will report to the Director, New Initiatives. You will work together to identify

new revenue opportunities for CR and identify and secure strategic partnerships that enable CR to build, test and market new products and services.

. Youll also work closely and collaboratively with our Product, Marketing, Engineering, Design and Business Development teams

Under our CRFlex program, this is a hybrid position.

The successful candidate must reside within 75 miles of our Yonkers, NY office location.

This position is not eligible for Sponsorship (TN, L1, etc.

HOW YOU'LL MAKE AN IMPACT:
We will be able to bring more mission-aligned new products and services to market more quickly because of your strategic ability to identify relevant partnerships and your executional talent to negotiate and close deals. You will :
Qualitatively assess and vet new initiatives for financial attractiveness, operational viability, consumer appeal, and fit with CRs mission and values.
Identify market trends, customer needs and untapped opportunities based on data and industry insights
Lead product ideation and conceptualization efforts
Create business and go-to market plans
Own the product/service as it goes to market

ABOUT YOU:
Youll Be Highly Rated If:

You have proven experience in Product and/or new Business Development.

You have a minimum of ten years

related to the B2C or B2B2C space which includes a track record of

bringing new solutions to market (especially in a legacy organization).
You have earned the degree

.

You have a BA in Marketing, Business or a related field. No degree?

You must have equivalent work experience.
Youve done this before--from start to finish.

Your experience includes working on the entire product lifecycle--from ideation to post-launch optimization.
You know how to leverage information.

Youve tapped into Emerging technology, market trends and market analysis and research to identify new opportunities.
You use data to tell the story.

You are proficient in data analysis and have the ability to

make decisions based on metrics and KPIs.
You know your way around a spreadsheet.

That includes budgeting, pricing, revenue forecasting in order to size opportunities.
You have excellent communication and relationship building skills.

You have a strong network and enthusiasm for building new relationships. You can effectively align people from disparate functions and different levels within an organization.
You enjoy collaboration.

You thrive on teamwork and have proven to be a reliable, dependable teammate. You can provide numerous examples of where you have worked cross-functionally to produce high-quality deliverables.

FAIR PAY & A JUST WORKPLACE:
At Consumer Reports, we are committed to fair, transparent pay and we strive to provide competitive, market-informed compensation. The target salary range for this position is $165k to $175k. It is anticipated that most qualified candidates will fall near the middle of this range. Compensation for the successful candidate will be informed by the candidates particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience.
