Job Description - Associate Director, Insights and Analytics
Medical Affairs Analytics Operationalization Operationalize and scale established Medical Affairs analytics standards, frameworks, and methodologies across regions and business units. Ensure adherence to defined analytics standards, methodological consistency, and quality control across Medical Excellence-led initiatives. Partner with Field Excellence and other Medical stakeholders to translate agreed business priorities into aligned analytical workplans within the Medical Excellence governance framework. Support the appropriate application of advanced analytics and AI use cases within defined Medical Excellence frameworks, ensuring alignment with enterprise data standards, compliance requirements, and data privacy considerations. Design and execute complex medical analytics using real-world data, Medical engagement data, digital data, and operational data to identify trends, patterns, and relationships relevant to Medical Affairs strategy and execution. Apply established Medical Excellence frameworks to translate defined business questions into structured, fit-for-purpose analytical plans, oversee delivery, and distill actionable insights to inform Medical leadership discussions. Apply rigorous statistical and analytical methodologies to address Medical questions related to field engagement, scientific communications, launch support, care gap analysis, KPI tracking, and impact evaluation. Serve as the dedicated analytics execution partner to Medical Excellence initiatives, embedding analytics throughout initiative design and execution. Support the Director, Medical Excellence in strategy and planning discussions with regional and therapeutic-area leadership by providing analytics expertise. Collaborate with the Associate Director, Field Excellence and other stakeholders to translate field priorities into analytical plans. Provide analytical expertise and vendor oversight to support field prioritization analyses, impact summaries, rapid-turnaround analyses, and initiative evaluations. Contribute to the refinement and validation of relevant Medical Affairs metrics, leading and lagging indicators, and structured evaluation approaches. Manage and oversee external analytics vendors, including review of analytical approaches, validation of outputs, and quality assurance. Ensure appropriate documentation of analytical methods and reproducibility standards where applicable. Contribute Medical Affairs analytical expertise to enterprise AI and advanced analytics initiatives in alignment with enterprise governance and Medical Excellence priorities. Support the evolution of scalable analytical tools and impact measurement approaches within Medical Excellence. Execute analytics components of priority capability initiatives, including care gap analysis, HCP journey mapping, and impact measurement. Bachelor's degree in data science, biostatistics, business analytics, life sciences, public health, or a related field required; advanced degree strongly preferred. Minimum 6-8 years of experience in analytics or medically focused data science roles within the life sciences industry or academia; consulting experience in life sciences, healthcare, or strategy-focused analytics preferred. Prior experience supporting Medical Affairs or related healthcare functions through analytics, with understanding of Medical Affairs objectives, engagement models, and compliance considerations. Demonstrated expertise in analytics methodologies, real-world data, medical insights analysis, and impact measurement. Strong hands-on analytical capability, including independent execution of complex analyses and experience working directly with large healthcare datasets (e.g., claims, CRM, digital engagement data). Proficiency in data and analytics tools (e.g., Python, SQL, Power BI), with demonstrated experience independently applying predictive modeling, descriptive and inferential statistics, time series analysis, and advanced data mining techniques. Experience reviewing and validating vendor-generated analytical outputs for methodological rigor and accuracy. Advanced ability to synthesize complex analyses into clear, compelling narratives for senior stakeholders. Strong understanding of pharmaceutical compliance considerations and data governance standards. Ability to operate effectively in a matrixed, cross-functional environment and influence without formal authority.
