Job Description - Associate Director, Medical Science Liaison - Mid South (TN, MO, KY, MS, IN)
Overview:\n\nWe are seeking an experienced Medical Science Liaison (MSL) to join the TTR team and support Alnylam\u2019s commitment to advancing the science and care of patients with transthyretin (TTR) amyloidosis. Patients often experience prolonged diagnostic journeys; this role is an opportunity to help elevate disease understanding and support evidence-based clinical decision-making through high-quality scientific exchange.\n\nThe MSL will be principally responsible for building and sustaining scientific partnerships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), investigators, and other healthcare professionals within an assigned geography. The MSL will identify and address unmet medical education needs, deliver balanced scientific information (including mechanism of action and emerging clinical data), and gather actionable medical insights to inform internal stakeholders.\n\nSuccess in this role is grounded in Alnylam\u2019s core values\u2014our unwavering commitment to people, purposeful urgency, passion for excellence, fiercely innovative, and an open culture\u2014while upholding the highest standards of integrity and compliance. This position partners closely with cross-functional colleagues (including Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, Market Access, and Patient Advocacy) to support strategic medical priorities for the TTR franchise and reports to the geographically aligned Field Medical Director.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\n * Partner closely with investigators and internal stakeholders to drive patient accrual.\n * Identify key opinion leaders and cultivate a network of experts for key Alnylam disease areas. \n * Develop, maintain, and execute US KOL and US Institution plans within respective geography.\n * Conduct and implement a comprehensive disease awareness tactical plan within the respective geography. \n * Collaborate with health care professionals to identify opportunities for the development of algorithms and guidelines to facilitate early diagnosis\n * Provide in-depth drug mechanism of action and emerging clinical information to health care providers in the respective geography. \n * Serve as a liaison to health care professionals and professional organizations and disease state advocacy groups. Support the efforts of patient support groups and educational foundations. \n * Provide medical and scientific input into the planning and execution of advisory boards and work with experts to review speaker presentations and provide additional medical background where requested.\n * Contribute to Alnylam\u0027s achievement of Company objectives for pre-approved products.\n * Provide educational meeting support at scientific congresses.\n * Coordinate required medical, legal, and regulatory review and approval of all field documents for distribution or presentation.\n * Require 60-70% travel.\n\n\n\nQualifications:\n\n * PhD, PharmD, DNP or MD with 3 to 5 years\u2019 industry experience.\n * Proven clinical background to enable engagement of Health Care Professionals in a scientifically meaningful exchange.\n * Prior experience in cardiology and rare disease strongly preferred.\n * Experience in clinical research, patient recruitment, and investigator-sponsored trials.\n * Experience in medical education and KOL management.\n * Effective communication of evidence based scientific information.\n * Ability to work collaboratively and cross-functionally.\n * Capable of managing shifting priorities in a rapidly changing environment\n * Decision-making and accountability.\n\n\n\n#LI-ST1 #LI-Remote \n\nU.S. Pay Range\n\n$187,700.00 - $253,900.00\n\nThe pay range reflects the full-time base salary range we expect to pay for this role at the time of posting. Base pay will be determined based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills, and education.
