Under the direct supervision of the Director of Multi-Media/Communications and in accordance with established policies and procedures, assists the Director of Communications with overall communications duties with a specialization in producing the East Texas Catholic Magazine. Collaborates with the Director in developing and implementing the social media strategy for the Diocese. Collaborate with the Director on maintaining and updating the diocesan website.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This Job has no supervisory responsibilities.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in communication and/or Digital/Online Journalism. Two or more years’ experience with digital communications preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of all sizes.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages. Ability to perform math functions using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
CERTIFCATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must have a current valid Texas Driver’s License and must attend the Safe Environment Training and earn a certificate.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of the Catholic Church. Knowledge and experience with content Management Systems, Social Media Platforms, Photoshop, Word, InDesign Power Point, Excel. Knowledge of new media strategies and online communications. Working knowledge of and experience with online measurement platforms (Google Analytics, You Tube insights, Facebook Insights). Excellent writing and presentation skills. Strong administrative and organizational skills. Strong interpersonal skills.

This is a forty-hour per week position. Office hours for this position are from 8:00am until 5:00pm Monday through Friday. Changes to this schedule may be made according to needs for coverage of events. Weekend, evening work, and travel within the Diocese is required.
