Job Description - Associate Director. Privacy, Training and Communications, Ethics & Compliance
Manage large-scale compliance initiatives and cross-functional projects from planning through execution Apply project management best practices across compliance programs, including change management, communications, training, and implementation. Support management of global privacy compliance programs, including monitoring privacy mailboxes, intaking and addressing data subject requests, responding to data incidents and operationalizing privacy controls Support efforts to operationalize and simplify privacy policies and SOPs across the enterprise, translating policy requirements into actionable processes, tools, and guidance for business stakeholders. Monitor the implementation of Privacy compliance policies and address any gaps in understanding or execution among operational teams and business stakeholders. Monitor regulatory developments and support updates to privacy policies and procedures Monitor and update data retention schedules Identify and implement automation and process improvements to enhance compliance efficiency. Support the development and execution of a strategic compliance communications strategy Communicate policy changes and initiatives to business stakeholders in a manner that is accessible, practical, and supportive of both operational efficiency and business goals. Provide training and guidance to colleagues and business stakeholders to promote adoption of compliance best practices. Bachelor's Degree required. Minimum of 8+ years of experience with increasing responsibility in compliance, Compliance operations, consulting or legal roles; focus on operations in the life science industry, is strongly preferred Direct experience in designing, implementing, overseeing, and improving compliance systems and processes Ability to guide, train, and influence colleagues and business stakeholders to adopt and sustain compliance best practices. Experience writing or managing SOPs within a regulated industry (e.g., healthcare, pharmaceuticals, life sciences). Strong project management skills with experience leading cross-functional initiatives. Strong understanding of business operations, preferably in life science industry, and the ability to bridge the gap between regulatory requirements, business priorities, and practical application. Proven ability to translate complex regulatory language into clear, concise, and actionable policies. Excellent organization, communication (verbal and written fluency in English required) and prioritization skills, including the ability to communicate concisely, to integrate legal and business considerations, and to provide balanced advice regarding risks Demonstrated ability to collaborate and influence cross-functionally with US and ex-US personnel Possess an innovative mindset and must take a practical, solutions-oriented approach Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, to work independently and manage discrete areas of responsibility with limited supervision, and to flourish in a fast-paced environment Travel will be required to Alnylam's headquarters in Cambridge, MA.
