The Associate Director is responsible for leading the Sunnydale Community Center, aka The Hub, with a focus on operational & strategic program development, and impactful community outreach. This position manages a diverse team to ensure the center’s activities align with Mercy Housing’s mission and core values, including Respect, Justice, and Mercy. Must have the ability to occasionally work weekends and evenings. This position is eligible for a Hybrid work schedule.
Pay: $102,000-110,000 /year DOE

Duties
Manage the Community Center team, ensuring operations align with Mercy’s policies and procedures.
Lead and manage the Community Center’s marketing and branding initiatives, developing and executing outreach strategies to increase overall utilization—including boosting memberships, volunteerism, and facility rentals.
Collaborate with property and asset management to maintain a clean, welcoming facility and ensure smooth building operations.
Develop programmatic strategy for the community center and lead and execute large scale community-wide events that will foster neighbor-to-neighbor connections and promote inclusion, belonging, and healing at the community center.
Manage a cross-sector action group of local leaders and residents from Sunnydale and the broader Visitacion Valley Neighborhood, government, philanthropy, non-profit, and businesses to serve as a resident advisory committee for the community center.
Oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of programs, ensuring effective coordination of service delivery; compliance with grants and contracts; and fiscal responsibility.
Maintain and implement an operations manual for the Community Center in collaboration with members, program providers internal and external partners.
Implement and monitor contracts, agreements, and memorandums of understanding with community-based organizations, vendors, agencies, and institutions as necessary for the effective implementation of the Community Center programmatic plan.
Maintain a creative, team building, collaborative approach to staff development, and seek to bring a constructive, problem-solving orientation to all tasks.
Represent Mercy Housing with a variety of stakeholders including residents, community organizations, and philanthropic partners.
Minimum Qualifications
5+ years of experience in program management, partnership development, or community engagement.
Demonstrated success in building and maintaining strategic partnerships.
Proven ability to secure donations, sponsorships, and in-kind support.
Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to plan and execute large-scale events and manage multiple priorities.
Experience working in diverse, underserved communities is highly desirable.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree in social work or related field.
Knowledge and Skills
Demonstrate racial awareness, cultural competence, and anti-racism expertise.
Demonstrate high emotional intelligence.
Demonstrate understanding of trauma-informed/Healing-Centered community building approaches that foster healing, inclusion and belonging.
A deep knowledge of community engagement tools that are effective in communities of color and or under-resourced neighborhoods.
Articulate and integrate the mission and the core values of Respect, Justice and Mercy into day-to-day work.
Hold self and team accountable to fostering and reflecting the core values when working with others and when making business decisions.
Effectively facilitate meetings and large community gatherings.
