Join a high-performing team at Banner North Colorado Medical Center, where you will lead a dynamic 44-bed surgical unit that also serves as the Neuro and Trauma floor. This fast-paced environment offers the opportunity to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and make a meaningful impact on patient outcomes across the Med-Surg service line.

As the Associate Director RN, you will oversee RN and PCA staff while leading day-to-day operations, driving quality measures and key performance indicators, and ensuring exceptional patient experience outcomes. You will play a key part in fostering a positive team culture, supporting staff engagement and retention, and leading hiring and corrective action processes. You will partner closely with Therapy and Physician teams, as well as the Medical, Oncology, and Telemetry leaders to optimize care delivery and outcomes.

We are seeking a clinically strong, engaged nurse leader with prior leadership experience (preferred), a background in surgical nursing, and familiarity with Cerner (preferred). The ideal candidate is passionate about building and improving team culture, comfortable stepping in to support the team at the bedside, and eager to make an immediate impact in a fast-paced environment.

Banner North Colorado Medical Center is a 378-bed Level II trauma center and acute care facility with over 3000 employees. Our hospital offers an array of inpatient and outpatient services including medical, pediatric, obstetric, orthopedic, surgical, heart, cancer, and critical care. POSITION SUMMARY
This position provides managerial and clinical support to patients and staff. Uses depth and breadth of clinical management knowledge to ensure the provision of high quality, safe, and cost effective patient care. Demonstrates clinical expertise and oversees the leadership of clinical, financial, and personnel management of the assigned areas.

CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Manages and facilitates patient centered nursing care for designated patient populations by serving as a real-time clinical expert for unit staff and physicians for escalated problem-solving on patients, processes, and family issues. Manages the operations of the unit to ensure smooth and efficient patient care management and resource utilization.

2. Leads change by developing, implementing and evaluating quality and process improvement initiatives of the department in conjunction with the director. Seeks and utilizes input from staff and oversees change implementation. Ensures compliance with appropriate regulatory agencies.

3. Facilitates communication of system, regional, facility and department initiatives.

4. Manages and develops the operational and capital budgets and use of associated resources.

5. Assures the development of staff leadership through the design of effective shared leadership models and supports career advancement opportunities. Functions as a role model and encourages staff to participate in their own development.

6. Responsible for selection, orientation, on-boarding, and retention. Demonstrates leadership through coaching, performance evaluations, corrective actions, and development opportunities to create a culture of learning.

7. Manages large single unit or multiple clinical units to ensure excellent patient care. Actively develops leadership of entry level nurse manager(s) while leading clinical improvement initiatives. Internal customers include patients, staff, and physicians. External customers include patient family.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
 

BSN or MSN required for all new hires. BSN required for internal transfers/promotions within 6 months of transfer/promotion.

Requires a current RN license in state of practice. Requires BLS certification.

Must possess a strong knowledge and understanding of clinical care management as normally demonstrated through two years of clinical management experience relevant to patient population. Demonstrates knowledge and skills of specialty area. Requires critical thinking, communication, influence, decision-making, analytical, and flexibility skills to make optimal decisions based on multiple variables and desired outcomes. Must have the ability to practice skills according to department and professional standards and quality requirements. In LTC setting: Requires familiarity with Alzheimer’s disease and developmental disabilities.

Employees working at Banner Behavioral Health Hospital, BTMC Behavioral or BUMG, BUMCT in a Behavioral Health clinical setting that serves children must possess an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain the card for the duration of their employment. An Arizona Criminal History Affidavit must be signed upon hire. Employees working at BUMCS in a Behavioral Health clinical setting must possess an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain the card for the duration of their employment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS


Master's degree in nursing preferred.

Additional related education and/or experience preferred.

Estimated Pay Range:

$48.71 - $81.19 / hour Banner Health is committed to pay equity and transparency. The posted compensation range is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay Banner Health in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. This range is based on possible base salaries and does not include the value of our total rewards package. Actual pay determined at offer will be based on years of relevant work experience, education, certifications, skills, and geographic location, along with a review of current employees in similar roles to ensure pay equity is achieved and maintained.
