Overview
The Student Services Officer 5 is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing a range of student services programs in areas such as admissions, registration, placement, financial aid, and career counseling. This role involves developing and implementing strategic visions, managing staff, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to support students and enhance their educational experience. The Student Services Officer ensures continuous improvement, innovation, and alignment with the mission of the university while providing leadership for various initiatives, events, and communications.
Required Skills and Abilities
1. Exceptional organizational and communication skills, both oral and written.
2. Ability to manage people and projects with a high degree of detail and strong organizational skills.
3. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with a wide variety of internal and external constituents.
4. Strong analytical and technical skills, including proficiency with advanced MS Office applications and database systems.
5. Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and the ability to lead diverse teams.
Preferred Skills and Abilities
1. Master's or advanced degree, with several years of experience in career services, student advising, or higher education administration.
2. Experience in developing and implementing new programs and strategies in a university or similar setting.
3. Proven record of successful management and leadership in a career services or student services role.
4. Global orientation with experience working across countries and regions; fluency in more than one language is a plus.
5. Familiarity with the career paths relevant to the student population served, such as arts, education, government, nonprofit, media, and communication.
Principal Responsibilities
1. Initiates, implements, and communicates admission, financial aid, internship, and career services strategic plans, policies, and procedures. Assesses and refines content of recruitment, admissions and career placement programs based on current trends and demographics. 2. Designs, initiates, develops and conducts programs and materials for recruitment seminars and workshops for prospective students, families, secondary schools and alumni committees. Develops and implements career fairs, panels and other programming for student career services. 3. Develops and maintains relationships with employers and internship sponsors to facilitate career opportunity development with external constituencies, including alumni. 4. Develops marketing materials and admissions publications to inform students, prospective students and families about available services, University policy and academic developments. 5. Supervises, develops, and trains a staff of exempt and non-exempt employees. 6. May perform other duties as assigned.Job Posting Date
